Job summary

SCA Health in New Jersey is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for a Multi-Specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center. You will schedule outpatient surgeries, gather patient demographics, and ensure accurate insurance information is on file.

You will collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership and the business office to maintain smooth daily operations, verify authorizations, and support optimal patient throughput and service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year scheduling experience in ambulatory surgery facility, acute-care hospital, or doctor’s office.
• Attendance, punctuality and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all outpatient surgeries and procedures as requested by the physician or staff.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance information into the billing system.
• Contact payers to verify benefits and obtain necessary authorization.
• Coordinate with Director of Nursing to ensure equipment and staff availability.
• Distribute the daily surgery schedule to nursing management and staff.
• Capture complete clinical, demographic and insurance information for scheduled patients.
• Communicate scheduling updates and conflicts to the Director of Nursing.
• Cross-train to cover front desk duties and other clerical tasks.
