Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a qualified Health Care Scheduler to join our team in Dallas. The role focuses on scheduling surgeries, handling physician and patient communications, and ensuring proper pre-registration and authorizations.

Ideal candidates have healthcare experience, familiarity with surgery scheduling, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment. Shifts may vary, with a standard 8:30am–5:00pm CST schedule and supportive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in health care and minimum one year experience in surgery scheduling preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Flexible hours and shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries in the surgery template and coordinate with physician offices.
• Handle phone calls from physician offices and patients regarding scheduling.
• Pre-registration and obtain necessary authorizations prior to surgery.
• Maintain logs for cancelled appointments and keep scheduling area organized.
• Perform clerical duties (copying, mailing, chart preparation) as needed.
• Document insurance verification and patient communications in the system.
