Job summary

California Pain Group is seeking an ASC Front Office Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and schedule procedures at the La Mesa ASC. You will act as the primary liaison among patients, physicians, and surgical staff to ensure timely, accurate scheduling and proper preoperative prep.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of medical office scheduling experience, strong communication, attention to detail, and proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or surgical scheduling environment preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance processes and medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Verify surgery times, locations, required equipment, and staff availability.
• Obtain prior authorizations and insurance verifications for scheduled procedures.
• Communicate pre-operative instructions and ensure completion of paperwork and lab work.
• Input and maintain scheduling data in the EMR system.
• Collaborate with billing to confirm payer coverage and patient responsibility.
• Manage ASC calendar to avoid conflicts and optimize resources.
• Respond promptly to scheduling inquiries from patients, surgeons, and staff.
• Assist front desk with check-in/out, phones, and other administrative tasks.
• Maintain HIPAA and ASC regulatory compliance.
