Qualifications

• Minimum one year of scheduling experience in ambulatory surgery, acute-care hospital, or doctor’s office.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all outpatient surgeries and procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance into billing systems.
• Contact payers to verify benefits and obtain authorizations.
• Coordinate with Director of Nursing for equipment, staff and services.
• Distribute daily surgery schedule to nursing and business staff.
• Capture complete clinical, demographic, and insurance data.
• Communicate scheduling updates to Nursing Director.
• Flag and communicate scheduling conflicts.
• Notify management of patient issues.
• Maintain positive communication with medical staff.
• Track cancellations.
• Monitor block time and prepare deposits.
• Cross-train to support front desk and other duties.
• Perform other clerical duties as directed.
