Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a TH Assistant Director of Nursing/Nurse Manager for the Commack ASC on a full-time day shift. The role supervises 24/7 unit operations and directs staff to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

The candidate will have strong leadership, clinical expertise, and excellent communication skills, with mandatory NYS RN licensure and a master's degree or enrollment in a master's program. This is a responsible hospital leadership position.

Qualifications

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• Five years post-licensure with progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Master's degree or current enrollment in a Master's program.
• Minimum two years management/supervisory experience.
• Minimum three years relevant nursing experience in specialty.

Responsibilities

• Identify staffing needs based on patient acuity and nurse level of practice.
• Plan monthly and vacation time schedules.
• Interview and recommend selection of nursing staff.
• Complete shift and daily patient care and unit assignment sheets.
• Delegate tasks with direction and supervision for completion.
• Monitor quality of nursing care and documentation of the nursing process.
• Coordinate delivery of patient care and audit medical records.
• Ensure staff compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain equipment and supplies to support patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
