Job summary

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking a Nurse Administrator under the general direction of the Vice President for Patient Services to oversee daily management of Nursing Services.

The role requires an active New York State RN license, a BSN, and a Master's degree in nursing or a related field is highly desirable. Current BLS certification is expected, with a minimum of five years progressive nursing experience and strong emphasis on safety and interdepartmental collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice in New York State.
• BSN required; NY law requires BSN within 10 years for certain RNs.
• Master's degree in nursing or related field highly desirable.
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum five (5) years progressive experience in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Manages available resources to meet the goals of the organization and department .
• Maintains an awareness of interdepartmental relationships and facilitates communication to optimize patient care .
• Promotes cooperation, a positive attitude and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff .
• Responsible for knowing and adhering to established Hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety .
