Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in ambulatory settings, guided by the nursing process and within licensed scope. You will perform assessments, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe, effective care.

Preference given to candidates with RN licensure in the state or eNLC and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where services will be provided or multi-state license through eNLC.
• Must obtain permanent RN license within 90 days of graduation where applicable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the ambulatory setting based on the nursing process and scope of practice.
• Performs preliminary patient assessment through observation and chart review for appropriate follow-up.
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient situations and facilitates appropriate intervention.
• Implements clinical decisions and collaborates with health care team.
• Maintains accountability and uses nursing judgment for care delivered by self and others.
• Documents care and communicates with the care team to update the plan of care.
