WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct ambulatory care, conduct patient assessments, and support the health care team.

The role emphasizes clinical judgment, patient education, and adherence to standards of practice. Candidate must hold a current RN license (state or eNLC) and obtain permanent licensure per state requirements, along with BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of service or multi-state license via eNLC.
• Must obtain permanent RN license within the state-required timeframe after graduation.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Temporary permits are valid only within the issuing state and are not multi-state licenses.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in ambulatory settings.
• Performs initial patient assessment and chart review to guide follow-up.
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates interventions.
• Applies nursing judgment and collaborates with the care team.
• Documents care and teaching in patient charts and follows unit protocols.
• Educates patients and families about health needs and care plans.
• Contributes to orientation and mentoring of new staff and students.
• Engages in performance improvement activities and interdisciplinary communication.
