Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a qualified nurse to deliver ambulatory care using the nursing process. You will assess patients, determine care priorities, and implement clinical decisions with independent judgment. The role includes teaching patients and families and supporting staff development.

The position requires an RN license, BLS, and adherence to state licensure timelines. Travel to multiple clinic locations may be required, with a 40-hour work week and non-exempt

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where services will be provided or multi-state license (eNLC)
• Must obtain permanent RN license within specified timelines after graduation
• Temporary permits are state-bound and not multi-state
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within ambulatory setting based on the nursing process
• Performs preliminary patient assessments through observation and chart review
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates appropriate intervention
• Applies independent nursing judgment and utilizes standards of care to guide delivery
• Mentors and develops staff, participates in orientation, and supports professional development
• Engages in Performance Improvement activities and collaborates with health care team
