Job summary

Union Hospital Terre Haute seeks an Ambulatory Registration Trainer in the Talent Development Department. You will design and implement orientation and ongoing staff education, develop training tools, and assess competency across patient access responsibilities.

Role requires strong presentation skills and 1–2 years in healthcare or customer service, with familiarity in Cerner/EPIC systems. On-site role with daytime hours; TUITION reimbursement and other benefits available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Education, Business, or related field.
• Strong presentation and training skills; experience in instructional design or curriculum development preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare or customer service, preferably in scheduling, registration, or patient access.
• Familiarity with patient management software (e.g., EPIC, Cerner) is a plus but can be learned on the job.
• Experience in training or mentoring staff, even informally, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, organizes, and implements a training program for new hire orientation and staff development.
• Creates training tools and staff assessment materials, including presentations, scripts, competency tests, tipsheets.
• Trains staff in utilizing systems or applications applicable to their job duties – Cerner Registration/Scheduling/PowerChart; Experian eligibility, Centricity payments, copays.
• Coordinates with IT for Systems access sign-ons and issues; resolves eligibility or system problems.
• Plans and leads monthly Patient Access meetings to provide education and system updates.
