Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join the Acute Care Laboratory team at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank. This full-time MLS Generalist position operates on the evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with 3 out of 6 weekends and occasional holiday coverage.

The MLT performs waived to high-complexity testing per CLIA guidelines, maintains quality controls, and supports specimen collection and reporting under

Qualifications

Associate or higher degree with practicum for high complexity testing per CLIA’ 88.
Multiple acceptable degree pathways listed in the posting.
Eligibility for DHHS lab certification and MLT certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Collects and processes specimens per SOP.
Performs waived to high complexity testing.
Maintains QC procedures and ensures reporting accuracy.
Communicates abnormal/critical results to care providers.
Mentors new staff and students.
