Job summary

TTUHSC in Texas seeks a Medical Coding Supervisor to oversee the centralized ambulatory coding team, ensuring accurate outpatient coding and supporting revenue cycle integrity across clinics.

You will mentor staff, perform coding and auditing functions, and collaborate with Compliance and Revenue Cycle teams to enforce coding standards and improve processes. Travel up to 25% with a day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience as a medical coder or coding auditor, plus one year of recent supervisory experience.
• The CPC or CCS certification must be obtained within twelve months after hire and remain active.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations and employees on the centralized ambulatory coding team, ensuring timely and accurate coding of outpatient encounters.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality, providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback for professional growth.
• Perform coding and auditing functions to maintain workflows and coding accuracy across multiple specialties.
• Collaborate with Coding Manager, Compliance, and Revenue Integrity to ensure CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM guidelines.
• Support coding policy implementation and maintenance of standard work processes.
• Identify workflow or documentation issues and coordinate resolutions with leadership and staff.
• Participate in coding quality reviews and assist with corrective action and education plans.
