Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Oncology team in a part-time role. The position supports patient intake, vitals, history reviews, and routine lab tasks while assisting clinicians with procedures and care coordination.

Applicants should have a MA certificate or relevant training, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinic. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and a schedule from 8A to 5P, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• May have completed military clinical training in lieu of MA program.
• AHA BLS certification may be required within 45 days depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Perform rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, health history, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and labs including venipuncture.
• Handle POCT and CLIA-waived tests per standards.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Coordinate referrals, scheduling, and patient messaging.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and equipment readiness.
• Communicate effectively with patients, team, and physicians.
