Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory float pool in Central Massachusetts. The role involves vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, specimen handling, and data entry in the EMR, within clinic standards.

We offer a full-time schedule, 40 hours weekly, with a signing bonus possible. Exemption status is non-exempt and the hiring range is $20.60–$31.94 per hour, with final offer prorated for scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS/HS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by Massachusetts Department of Health; equivalent education/experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care tests.
• Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Maintain inventory and supplies for the office/clinic.
• Enter data into the electronic medical record (EMR) and coordinate with clinicians.
