Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Oncology Clinic. You will escort patients, record vital signs, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, and assist with routine procedures in a busy outpatient setting.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, current BLS or HeartSaver certification, and a Medical Assistant credential approved by the MA Department of Health within 1 year of hire. A signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS/HeartSaver certification from the American Heart Association.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by the MA Department of Health; must be obtained within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms and records vital signs.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Assists with routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Reviews lab results and communicates abnormal findings to physicians.
