Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Worcester area. The role involves direct patient care under RN supervision, performing vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and routine procedures in a clinic setting.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, active BLS/HS, and MA credential from MA DOH with completion within 1 year. A signing bonus may be offered. The team values respect and collaboration in a busy ambulatory environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.), must be obtained within 1 year from date of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms, take and record vital signs and document patient status and progress.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, Point of Care tests according to clinic standards.
• May prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assists in performing routine physical examination or clinical procedures.
• Reviews laboratory results and ensures abnormal results are reported to physicians.
