Job summary

Stony Brook Community Medical, P is seeking an Ambulatory Training Specialist/EMR Educator to develop, deliver, and evaluate training for practice and clinical staff. You will lead on-site, classroom, and virtual sessions to improve EMR-driven productivity and patient care outcomes.

The role requires clinical background (Medical Assistant or LPN) and 2–5 years of clinical experience, along with strong training, communication, and leadership skills. Hybrid work options may apply depending on site.

Qualifications

  • Clinical background as Medical Assistant or LPN.
  • 2–5 years of clinical experience.
  • Training, presentation and listening skills.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Experience in physician practices.
  • Excellent communication, decision making, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with practice personnel to facilitate EMR training.
  • Lead on-site, classroom and virtual training sessions.
  • Create and maintain learning curriculum for staff.
  • Communicate system updates to management and staff.
  • Create e-learning tips and training materials.
  • Provide on-site support at sites as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process and quality improvements in patient flow.
  • Identify ongoing training needs and coordinate with leadership.
