Job summary

Wheeling Hospital seeks a capable supervisor to oversee ambulatory office operations. You will lead staff, ensure courteous patient service, and monitor adherence to policies. The role requires coordinating daily tasks, handling complaints, and collaborating with departments to maintain smooth workflow.

You will contribute to staffing decisions, participate in budgeting, and ensure ongoing staff development. This is an on-site role with a 40-hour week, located in Wheeling, WV.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Three (3) years of health care experience.
• Two (2) years in a healthcare management/supervisory position.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities related to patient care in the ambulatory office.
• Provides daily supervision to staff to ensure prompt and courteous service to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers.
• Monitors daily operations to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Provides coaching and counseling to staff based on performance management.
• Identifies ongoing continuing education needs of employees.
• Keeps staff informed of processes and changes through communication.
• Gathers statistics, completes reports and performs other duties as scheduled.
• Communicates status of daily operations to Manager or Director and escalates issues.
• Handles patient/family or staff complaints and investigates for resolution.
• Coordinates resolution of problems with other departments as needed.
• Organizes daily tasks to achieve productivity and efficiency.
• Maintains functional knowledge of operations and steps into staffing as needed.
• Ensures patient satisfaction is met and reports issues to leadership.
• Assists with annual budget process.
• Selects, hires, manages and evaluates employees continuously.
