Job summary

Adventure Tours in Accokeek, MD is hiring a full-time Dispatcher to coordinate the morning fleet. The role starts before dawn (4:00 AM) and runs through the mid-morning, with pay between $22 and $25 per hour based on experience.

As the calm voice behind a fast-moving operation, you’ll ensure drivers are checked in, build assignments within hours-of-service limits, and relay updates to clients and managers. No CDL is required, and on-call rotations may be needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of dispatch, scheduling or operations experience in motorcoach or trucking.
• Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT rules, especially hours of service for passenger carriers.
• Comfort with dispatch software, GPS tracking, Outlook and Excel.
• Clear, steady communication on the phone and radio, even at 4 AM with issues.
• Strong organization and sound judgment under pressure.
• Flexibility: days/hours may change; on-call rotation required.
• No CDL required.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Own the pull-out and ensure buses depart on time.
• Find coverage when a driver calls out or a bus won’t start.
• Track buses live and stay in contact with drivers.
• Keep assignments within hours-of-service limits.
• Handle breakdowns, delays, detours and accidents calmly.
• Maintain trip sheets, driver logs, and dispatch notes.
