Adventure Tours in Accokeek, MD is hiring a full-time Dispatcher to coordinate the morning fleet. The role starts before dawn (4:00 AM) and runs through the mid-morning, with pay between $22 and $25 per hour based on experience.

As the calm voice behind a fast-moving operation, you’ll ensure drivers are checked in, build assignments within hours-of-service limits, and relay updates to clients and managers. No CDL is required, and on-call rotations may be needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of dispatch, scheduling or operations experience in motorcoach or trucking.
• Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT rules, especially hours of service for passenger carriers.
• Comfort with dispatch software, GPS tracking, Outlook and Excel.
• Clear, steady communication on the phone and radio, even at 4 AM with issues.
• Strong organization and sound judgment under pressure.
• Flexibility: days/hours may change; on-call rotation required.
• No CDL required.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

While the city sleeps, you launch the fleet. Every morning at Adventure Tours, our motorcoaches roll out on charter trips, shuttle routes and line runs. Before the first wheel turns, one person has already lined it all up: the AM Dispatcher. If you love being the calm voice in a fast-moving operation, this seat is yours.

Accokeek, MD | Full-time | Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Pay: $22–$25 per hour, based on experience

Adventure Tours has moved people since 1999. We started in Clinton, MD with a few buses and grew into a motorcoach operator running charter, line run and shuttle service from five markets: Accokeek MD, Philadelphia PA, Long Island NY, Richmond VA and Charlotte NC. We run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and government agencies, universities and groups across the East Coast count on us every day.

What Your Morning Looks Like

• Own the pull-out. Arrive before the first report time, confirm every driver is checked in and fit for duty, and get every bus out of the yard on time.
• Fill the gaps fast. A driver calls out or a bus won’t start? You find coverage, swap equipment with maintenance, and keep the client whole.
• Watch the board. Track buses live by GPS, stay in constant contact with drivers, and catch late runs before the customer notices.
• Protect the clock. Build assignments that keep every driver inside federal hours-of-service limits.
• Be the first call. Handle breakdowns, delays, detours and accidents calmly, and notify clients and managers by the book.
• Keep the paper clean. Trip sheets, driver logs, vehicle inspection reports and dispatch notes, done right every shift.
• Hand off strong. Brief the PM dispatcher on open issues so nothing falls through the cracks.

Requirements

• 1+ year of dispatch, scheduling or operations experience in motorcoach, transit, school bus or trucking
• Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT rules, especially hours of service for passenger carriers
• Comfort with dispatch software, GPS tracking, Outlook and Excel
• Clear, steady communication on the phone and radio, even at 4 AM with three things going wrong
• Strong organization and sound judgment under pressure
• Reliability: we operate 24/7/365, including holidays, and the fleet can’t roll if dispatch isn’t there
• Flexibility: days and hours may change based on the needs of the company, and participation in the on-call rotation is required
• No CDL required
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
