Job summary

SP+, a Metropolis Company, is seeking a Wheelchair Assistant for our US airport facility in Kentucky. You will assist wheelchair passengers to gates, help with luggage movement, and maintain a welcoming, safety-first approach in all weather conditions and busy periods.

This is a physically demanding role requiring on-the-job security training, ability to obtain an airport badge, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must clear a background and drug screen.
• Lift up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair up to 300 lbs on inclines.
• Able to lift passengers from wheelchair to plane seating.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication with internal/external customers.
• Complete all required training including airport compliance.
• Able to obtain an airport badge.

Responsibilities

• Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates.
• Roll passenger wheelchair down jet bridge safely.
• Ensure wheel brakes are engaged before passenger exit.
• Complete wheelchair or incident reports.
• Follow dispatcher gate orders.
• Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and assist passengers with problems or questions.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, airline personnel, and airport authorities.
• Exceed customer service standards.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
