Job summary

SP+ is seeking a Wheelchair Assistant to support passengers at an airport facility, providing wheelchair transport to gates and assisting with luggage movement. The role emphasizes safety, clear communication, and a positive, customer-first attitude.

Candidates should be at least 18, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass background checks and a drug screen. Training and airport badge eligibility are required to perform duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass background and drug screening.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and push up to 300 lbs on inclines.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must complete all required training including airport compliance.
• Must be able to obtain an airport badge.

Responsibilities

• Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates.
• Roll passenger wheelchair safely down jet bridge.
• Ensure wheelchair brakes are applied before dismount.
• Complete wheelchair or incident reports as needed.
• Follow dispatcher gate orders.
• Maintain a friendly, patient attitude toward passengers.
