Job summary

Avolta at Newark Liberty International Airport is seeking a Retail Shift Manager to support store operations, maintain excellent customer service, and ensure brand standards across all shifts.

Lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment, supervise timekeeping and breaks, and coordinate with management to deliver a flawless customer experience in a high-visibility book retail setting.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Requires minimum of 6 months of supervisory or lead experience in retail or customer service.
• Basic math skills and cash handling experience.
• Experience with POS systems and retail management software.

Responsibilities

• Execute SOPs during shifts and coach associates to maintain brand standards.
• Keep merchandise displays clean, stocked and visually appealing; monitor equipment.
• Review timekeeping and manage overtime in compliance with labor laws.
• Assign tasks and ensure breaks in compliance with regulations.
• Escalate performance issues and provide guidance to improve performance.
• Operate POS systems and follow cash handling policies.
• Monitor inventory, assist with receiving, report discrepancies or stockouts.
• Train staff on brand standards and retail policies; ensure planogram compliance.
• Perform planogram changes and manage seasonal displays within brand guidelines.
• Deliver excellent customer service and create compelling product displays.
