Hudson Group in Newark, NJ is seeking a Retail Shift Manager I to assist at the Newark Liberty International Airport location. You will supervise hourly associates, ensure SOP compliance, maintain clean and attractive displays, and manage cash handling and inventory across shifts.

The role emphasizes coaching, adherence to labor laws, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting promotional setups and brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Executes established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during assigned shifts by conducting regular operational checks, ensuring compliance with brand standards, and documenting any deviations for management review.
• Holds hourly associates accountable for following operational protocols while providing immediate coaching and support to maintain consistent standards within assigned areas
• Ensures merchandise displays remain clean, stocked, and visually appealing while monitoring equipment functionality and reporting maintenance needs
• Reviews and approves timekeeping punches and monitors overtime to ensure compliance with labor laws and budget objectives
• Assigns tasks to associates and ensures mandated rest breaks and meal periods per labor regulations
• Operates POS systems and processes transaction voids while adhering to cash handling policies and security protocols
• Monitors inventory levels, assists with merchandise receiving, and reports discrepancies to management
• Ensures compliance with retail policies and trains staff on brand standards and visual merchandising
• Executes planogram changes and oversees seasonal book displays and promotional setups
• Delivers exceptional customer service and creates compelling displays for book products within brand guidelines
• Coaches associates on product knowledge and customer engagement and motivates team to meet customer experience standards
