Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a General Manager I to lead a QSR restaurant or cluster near Newark Airport. The role ensures the operation runs clean, staffed, and profitable with strong leadership decisions shaping overall success.

You will manage staffing, deployment, onboarding, training, compliance, and vendor coordination, while maintaining brand standards and delivering high customer experience. This position requires on-site leadership with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• GMIs must have documented and demonstrated skills managing the types of restaurants (QSR, Casual Dine, Full Service, similar complexity) with P&L responsibility.
• Graduation from a Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for time-based experience.
• Demonstrates team management, delegation and issue resolution skills and the ability to manage multiple and concurrent priorities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, service standards and operational protocols.

Responsibilities

• Open and Close: ensure opening/closing checklists are completed and staff are prepared.
• Staffing/Deployment: deploys staff and resources to maximize profitability and accepts P&L responsibility.
• Assigns tasks and prepares schedules ensuring shifts are covered.
• Interviews candidates and makes hiring/advancement decisions; promotes HMSHost as an employer of choice.
• Ensures onboarding/off-boarding, proper badging and compliance with training processes.
