Job summary

WHSmith at Detroit DTW airport is seeking an Operations Delivery Manager to lead field operations, drive performance, and ensure consistent execution of company standards across the property.

The role partners with the Multi-Unit Manager and store teams, analyzes sales, labor, and inventory data, and develops leadership capability. A 3+ year operational leadership background in fast-paced environments is required, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive retail, hospitality, airport, resort, or high-volume customer-facing operational leadership experience.
• Ability to lead through influence, coach store teams, and drive accountability.
• Strong understanding of retail KPIs, sales drivers, labor productivity, inventory control, shrink reduction, audits and compliance.
• Ability to translate insights into clear action plans that improve business performance.
• Experience supporting operational routines, merchandising execution, customer engagement, training reinforcement, and initiative implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational performance improvement and development of leadership capability within the property.
• Analyze operational data including sales, labor, shrink, inventory accuracy, audits, and compliance to identify trends and priorities.
• Strengthen standard operating procedures, inventory controls, merchandising execution, cash handling, and compliance routines.
• Provide actionable reporting and insights to field leadership on performance trends and risks.
• Coach store leaders and frontline teams on daily routines, customer engagement, and execution of company standards.
