Job summary

First Meridian Services, Inc. is seeking a Prep Cook to support the airport kitchen team. You will wash, chop, and portion ingredients, ensure food safety, and keep the station organized for fast service.

The role requires the ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, plus strong teamwork and communication in a high-volume setting. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• 1+ years’ experience as a cook/prep cook in a full-service restaurant.
• ServSafe Certified a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing.
• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items following recipes and specifications.
• Portion and package prepared ingredients for use during service.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Assist in setting up and stocking stations with necessary supplies and ingredients.
• Label and store all ingredients properly, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and blenders safely and efficiently.
• Assist cooks and chefs with various tasks as needed, including basic cooking and dish assembly.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to kitchen management.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper storage procedures are followed.
• Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
