Job summary

City of Atlanta is seeking an experienced Airport Grounds Maintenance Technician III- Airfield to maintain safe, clean, and visually appealing airport grounds and adjacent spaces in Atlanta, GA. You will lead advanced maintenance tasks, inspect facilities, and coordinate with staff to ensure timely completion of daily work orders.

The role requires five years of grounds experience and AMA certification, with opportunities to operate a range of heavy equipment in a large airport environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least five years of grounds or landscaping maintenance experience.
• Must obtain AMA Certification within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead advanced grounds maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, trimming, debris removal, pressure washing, and seasonal landscape upkeep.
• Conduct routine visual inspections of airport grounds, roadways, sidewalks, parking areas, medians, and landscaped spaces to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and service deficiencies.
• Coordinate and support special grounds and exterior facility projects, including surface sealing, pressure washing, weatherproofing, and response activities during inclement weather events.
• Provide grounds support during airport emergencies or weather-related events by securing affected areas, removing hazards, and assisting operational response efforts.
• Maintain airport landscaping, mow grass, and ensure outdoor areas are safe and visually appealing for passengers and staff.
