Job summary

Mead & Hunt, established in 1900, seeks a limited-term, full‑time civil engineering intern to perform construction inspection on airport projects based in Lansing, MI and other MI sites, from May/June 2027 to August/September 2027.

The ideal candidate has completed at least two semesters of civil engineering coursework. You must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass background checks; frequent travel to sites may be required, with some overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level civil engineering coursework by date of hire.
• Experience with construction, DOT projects, surveying and/or civil site inspections is a plus.
• Knowledge of airport planning and/or design is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, technicians, and surveyors on civil airport projects (taxiways, runways, aprons, etc.).
• Perform measurements, quantity calculations and prepare pay estimates.
• Assist with project report preparation and documentation.
• Perform field inspection and survey work; conduct basic research and writing.
• Other tasks as assigned.
