Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking a full-time, limited-term civil engineering intern to support airport projects from our Chicago office. You will travel 50–80% to sites across IL, WI, MI, and IN, assisting engineers, technicians, and surveyors with measurements, pay estimates, and reporting.

The role requires at least two college semesters in civil/related fields, familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil3D, and a willingness to travelFrequently. Compensation ranges $18.00–$25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Two semesters of college coursework in civil/related engineering fields.
• Experience with field inspections, surveying, or DOT projects is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, technicians, and surveyors on civil airport projects.
• Take measurements, calculate quantities, and prepare pay estimates.
• Help prepare project reports and maintain documentation.
• Conduct field inspections, take notes, and perform surveys.
• Conduct basic technical research and write summaries.
• Assist with other assigned tasks.
