Job summary

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is hiring a Project Manager for the Aviation Department to lead day-to-day execution of capital projects across JFK, EWR, LGA, SWF and TEB. The role focuses on managing scope, schedule and budget within the Capital Plan and Agency Major Maintenance Program.

Reporting to a Program Manager at JFK, you will coordinate with engineering and other stakeholders, drive risk management, and ensure on-time project closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience leading design, construction, and/or project management of infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of project scheduling, coordination and resource management.
• Possess valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SIDA access and airfield driving privileges.
• PE or RA license and PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project scope of work based on inputs from facilities and stakeholders.
• Establish project economics and timeline with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering to allocate resources and manage budgets.
• Advance projects through planning, design, construction and closeout milestones.
• Conduct regular meetings to track scope, schedule and budget.
• Interact with Port Authority departments and external agencies to secure agreements.
• Lead risk parameter establishment and contingency planning.
• Prepare project status reports for management and executives.
• Prepare material/presentations for capital project authorization.
• Manage design and construction activities to meet plans and specifications.
• Ensure proper project closeout according to agency processes.
