Job summary

The City of Phoenix Aviation is seeking a Building Controls, Life Safety & Security Field Specialist to manage and maintain critical life safety and building automation systems across Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports. This role requires strong hands-on troubleshooting, collaboration with internal divisions and external partners, and a 3-shift schedule with 24/7 coverage.

Responsibilities include installation and maintenance of environmental sensors, HVAC controls, energy management

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in systems applications analysis, programming or telecommunications functions using hardware and software.
• Experience with installation/maintenance of digital systems, radio and electronic communications.
• Course work with workstation computers, programming languages, and operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Fire Life Safety and Intrusion Detection systems at Sky Harbor, Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear Airports.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, or calibrate environmental sensors, HVAC building control systems, sub-meters and energy management equipment.
• Develop, modify and implement computer graphics, software programs and database management.
• Install and maintain network wiring and wireless communications using copper, fiber, switched and microprocessor-based controllers; evaluate system expansions and replacements.
• Manage contracts and verify contractor or vendor work to ensure compliance with design, code, and standards.
