Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking an HVAC Plant Technician to oversee the preventative maintenance program and operation of building automation systems for occupied spaces. You will manage, diagnose, repair, and optimize a variety of air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and related equipment across City facilities.

The role requires supervising staff, interpreting system data, and prioritizing tasks on second or third shifts, with a typical Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday schedule.

Qualifications

• Two years of journey level experience in operation, repair, and maintenance of large, modern refrigeration and heating systems.
• EPA Universal certification preferred.
• Experience leading or supervising employees is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and directing Building Equipment Operators I, Building Maintenance Workers, and other maintenance staff.
• Provide technical direction and prioritize work assignments.
• Interpret performance charts and control panels to assess equipment efficiency.
