Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to maintain repairs and modifications to medium-difficulty aircraft structures and components. You will work on airframes, engines, hydraulics, fuels, and related systems, following technical documents and safety guidelines.

The role involves daily flight line and hangar maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and occasional team leadership. US Citizenship and CBP clearance are required; travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must hold a current A&P license.
• Competent and knowledgeable in repair/maintenance of airframes, hydraulics, fuel systems, and aircraft engines.
• Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair.
• Working knowledge of military and general aviation aircraft airframe and engine logbooks.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and shears.
• Knowledge of technical publications.
• Able to follow base/federal/company procedures for handling hazardous waste materials.
• Proficient in Office software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine malfunctions and restore equipment operation.
• Perform daily, flight line and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft.
• Inspect, corrosion control, troubleshoot and fault isolate on aircraft systems.
• Furnish own hand tools; company will provide necessary tools/test equipment.
• May lead teams through complex aircraft tasks.
• May enter entries in aircraft logs and records.
• Prioritize workload schedules on assigned projects.
• Travel periodically to support customers’ missions.
