Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Air Quality Engineer to lead air permitting and compliance for AWS facilities across the Americas.

You will serve as environmental representative for AMER, guiding design, construction, and operations teams to integrate air quality requirements into planning and execution. You will partner with government entities and internal AWS teams to manage permits, modeling analyses, and regulatory changes, ensuring risk is identified and mitigated throughout

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 4+ years in EHS/environmental programs.
• 3+ years with air quality regulatory assessments and emissions evaluations.
• 3+ years with air permitting at local, state, and federal levels.

Responsibilities

• Function as a leader for air permitting work in AMER by managing permit applications for new construction, modifications, amendments, and renewals.
• Manage contracts with environmental consultants and testing firms for permit applications and dispersion modeling.
• Lead regulatory agency interactions for permit evaluation and processing and introduce new processes.
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with government agencies and within the company.
• Review permitting requirements for new power generation technologies for data centers.
• Collaborate with energy, design engineering, public policy, capacity delivery, due diligence, and legal teams on large projects.
