Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Air Quality Engineer to drive air permitting and compliance for AWS facilities across the AMER region. You will partner with stakeholders to embed air quality standards in planning, building, and operating data centers, managing complex permitting projects and regulatory guidance across design and operation teams.

You will interact with government entities, AWS Environmental leaders, and consultants to ensure compliant, scalable air quality solutions that support AWS growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience.
  • 3+ years with air quality regulatory assessments and air emissions evaluations, serving as an environmental technical resource, program specialist, or program manager.
  • 3+ years with air permitting at local, state, and federal levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead air permitting work in AMER by preparing permit applications for new construction, modifications, amendments, and renewals.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with environmental consultants and testing firms for permit applications and dispersion modeling.
  • Engage regulatory agencies for permit evaluation and processing and introduce new processes/tech.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
  • Represent Amazon with governmental agencies and within the company.
  • Review permitting requirements for new power generation technologies for data centers.
  • Collaborate with energy, design engineering, public policy, capacity delivery, real estate, due diligence, and legal teams on large projects.
