Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Air Quality Engineer to lead air permitting and compliance for AWS facilities in the AMER region.

You will be the environmental representative on behalf of the AWS Environmental Team in AMER responsible for the successful delivery of air permitting projects. You will partner with stakeholders across AWS to develop standards and mechanisms that incorporate air quality permitting into the process of planning, building, and operating data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or service operations.
• 3+ years with air quality regulatory assessments and emissions evaluations.
• 3+ years with air permitting at local, state, and federal levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of air permit applications for new construction, modifications, amendments and renewals.
• Manage environmental consultants and testing firms for permit applications and dispersion modeling.
• Oversee regulatory agency interactions for permit evaluation and processing.
• Prioritize and manage multiple complex assignments concurrently.
• Represent Amazon with governmental agencies and within the company.
• Review permitting requirements for power generation technologies including backup power.
• Collaborate with energy, design engineering, public policy, capacity delivery, due diligence and legal teams on large projects.
