Job summary

Velocity Logistics Hiring is seeking a hands-on Air & Ocean Freight Coordinator in New York. The role covers end-to-end air and ocean shipments from origin to delivery, booking, documentation, tracking, and billing.

You will work with airlines, truckers, customers and internal teams in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of air freight operations in freight forwarding, knowledge of AES/TSA requirements, and proficiency with CargoWise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on air freight operations in freight forwarding.
• Strong air/ocean import/export operations experience.
• CargoWise experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of AES, TSA requirements, and air/ocean freight documentation.
• Able to run multiple shipments, priorities, and urgent requests independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage air & oceanfreight shipments A–Z from origin to final delivery.
• Book cargo, coordinate pickups, prepare documentation, follow up with airlines, track, arrange delivery, and bill.
• Work with airlines, truckers, customers, and internal offices on bookings, pickups, docs, and cargo recovery.
• Monitor milestones, flag delays/exceptions early, and fix issues to hold service levels.
• Keep documentation, system updates, costs, and final billing accurate.
• Support air freight quotes by checking routing, transit times, capacity, and operational feasibility.
• Handle priority and complex shipments with tight follow-up through the full lifecycle.
