Job summary

JAS Worldwide in Dallas, TX is seeking a Gateway Specialist to coordinate shipments within a HUB environment. You will manage MAWB consolidations, book space with carriers, and ensure accurate rating and documentation, delivering timely updates to customers.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in freight forwarding, gateway/HUB experience, and knowledge of US export compliance. Cargowise (C1) experience is a plus and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years’ experience handling air export shipments.
• Experience in gateway or HUB operations.
• Knowledge of US export compliance preferred.
• Cargowise (C1) experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process and close MAWB for consolidations and back-to-back AWB’s.
• Ensure that file contains all necessary documents and copies are in proper sequence.
• Meet and exceed internal and external customers’ defined needs and expectations.
• Book space with carriers.
• Ensure all MAWBs are rated correctly.
• Obtain spot codes on all special negotiated rates with carriers.
• Enter spot rates and codes in C1.
• Track AWB and provide COB information to the respective branches.
• Research on all CCA, weight and rate discrepancies sent by carriers.
• Filing of files.
• Perform other duties as needed or requested.
• Manage/update carrier/vendor rates. Obtain spot rates when necessary.
• Communicate/correspond with overseas agents and clients in a timely manner. To include pre alert, rate requests, shipment status.
• Track shipments and update customers/agents of status.
