Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Value Engineer to articulate and quantify the business value of its technology across Enterprise, Education, and Government customers. You will translate AI adoption into measurable financial and operational impact.

As an early member of the Value Engineering team, you’ll build ROI models, dashboards, and collateral, partnering with Sales, Product, and Solutions Architecture to drive executive-aligned business cases and expansions.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in value engineering, management consulting, or adjacent roles.
• Strong financial and analytical skills with experience quantifying value for executive stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Experience on large-scale AI, cloud, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Ability to communicate across technical and business audiences.
• Ability to translate AI capabilities into financial, productivity, and workforce narratives.
• Proven track record managing multiple complex customers and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Customer-first mindset with ownership and urgency.

Responsibilities

• Lead business value assessments for large deals, quantifying value to support investment decisions.
• Build and maintain ROI, TCO, and value modeling tools for internal and customer use.
• Lead structured value discovery to identify high-impact use cases and define measurable outcomes.
• Publish executive-ready business cases that quantify results and strengthen relationships with C-level stakeholders.
• Codify value frameworks, methodologies, and reusable assets that scale value-based selling across GTM.
• Establish baselines, KPIs, and dashboards to track value delivery.
• Partner with Account Directors and post-sale teams to influence deal strategy, renewals, and expansion opportunities.
• Contribute to thought leadership on AI-driven business transformation by identifying emerging patterns.
