Job summary

Habitat Health is hiring a Forward-Deployed Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-enabled tools and workflows used across clinical, operational, and support functions. You will own the data layer, integrations, prompts, evaluation, and interface, shipping solutions that raise productivity and quality.

This is a founding hire in the Product & Engineering function, reporting directly to leadership. You will work in a hybrid environment with travel to Habitat Health centers as needed, and

Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record shipping end-to-end production systems.
• Experience building with modern AI tooling, designing agents and prompting logic.
• Strong hands-on engineering skills across the stack, and ability to establish foundations in an early-stage environment.
• Demonstrated product judgment to separate ROI-rich problems from fad ideas.
• Ability to translate complex workflows into practical tech and process solutions.
• Strong analytical orientation with metrics-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and ship production-grade AI tools, copilots, agents, and automations embedded in day-to-day work.
• Own data layer, integrations, prompts, evaluation, interfaces, and post-launch enhancements.
• Collaborate with operations, data, and legal to maintain quality, privacy, and regulatory standards.
• Map and redesign clinical and operational workflows to improve efficiency and care quality.
• Define success metrics and track adoption, throughput, cycle time, and user satisfaction.
• Embed with care teams to prototype solutions and drive adoption.
