Leidos is seeking a Senior AI Software Developer to join the Air Traffic Business Area within Homeland Sector, focusing on the Leidos Common Automation Platform (L-CAP). The role emphasizes AI-first engineering, microservices, and real-time safety-critical systems in a SAFe/Agile environment.

The position requires a strong background in Java/C++, microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems, with eligibility for a Public Trust and US citizenship.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). A completed Master’s degree adds 2 years of experience.
• 8+ years of experience in relevant roles.
• Proficiency in Java or C++ with production software experience.
• Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
• Strong RESTful API design and implementation knowledge.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Relational (PostgreSQL/Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) databases.
• Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe frameworks and iterative delivery.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with performance engineering, profiling, and optimization of distributed services.
• Knowledge of API versioning and interface stability for service-based architectures.
• Experience modernizing legacy software into service-oriented or microservice implementations.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

• Design and develop microservices that form the backbone of the L-CAP automation platform.
• Collaborate with architects to translate designs into robust, scalable implementations.
• Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations in a hybrid cloud data mesh.
• Integrate with relational and NoSQL databases ensuring data consistency and performance.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of distributed services.
• Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards across the team.
