Subquadratic is an AI research company building architecture-driven systems. We are hiring a senior recruiter to own end-to-end hiring for research and engineering roles, working with the Head of People and Talent to shape the recruiting function.

The role emphasizes proactive outreach, long-term candidate relationships, and a data-driven approach to building a scalable pipeline. Hybrid in San Francisco with competitive compensation and equity.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical recruiting or sourcing for AI labs, research teams, or startups.
• Proven success engaging passive, senior researchers and engineers to accept offers.
• Ability to read Google Scholar profiles, papers, and GitHub repos for fit.
• Strong, personal writing that elicits replies.
• Experience closing candidates against top competing offers.
• Systems thinking with repeatable processes and metrics.
• Familiar with AI tools for sourcing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Map the field of research talent across labs, universities, and conferences.
• Source and engage passive candidates with personalized outreach.
• Run the full cycle with hiring managers and interview loops.
• Close candidates weighing offers from top AI labs.
• Ensure a positive candidate experience with Subquadratic.
• Build pipeline metrics and manage agency partnerships.
• Recruit with AI to scale sourcing workflows.
