Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) is seeking an autonomous Forward Deployed Engineer II to embed with enterprise customers and own AI-powered production systems from design to production deployment.

You will design, build, and run AI-enabled solutions, with emphasis on scalable, production-grade software and measurable business outcomes. You will mentor teammates, collaborate across customer teams, and drive improvements in operations, latency, reliability, and cost while traveling as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in a highly agile environment.
• Experience with agentic and spec-driven development (developing AI agents a plus).
• Experience with AI tools: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
• US government security clearance of top secret or above.

Responsibilities

• Embed within customer engineering teams, translate requirements into technical designs for AI-enabled production systems.
• Build production AI applications powering AI and agentic workflows.
• Own production through full software lifecycle including monitoring and CI/CD.
• Mentor and uplift teammates on high-quality code and best practices.
• Accelerate customer adoption and codify reusable patterns and accelerators.
