Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced engineer to turn AI capabilities into durable products. You will own complete product slices from user conversations to prototypes and secure services, balancing speed with accessibility and maintainability.

You will work in Challenger, EY's program focused on delivering AI-enabled business services. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience, end-to-end delivery, and a track record in production AI, telemetry, and secure data handling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• End-to-end delivery from concept to launch and adoption.
• Technical breadth across frontend, backend, APIs, data and cloud.
• Applied AI experience with large language models, retrieval, tools or similar patterns.
• Evaluation experience with automated testing and probabilistic outputs.
• Live-service ownership including telemetry, debugging and reliability.
• User-centered practice with direct collaboration with users and leaders.
• Engineering craft with clear specifications and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Start with the user and understand real workflows with domain experts.
• Test assumptions quickly with concise specs, prototypes and small releases.
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Shape AI behavior with instructions, context, retrieval, and structured outputs.
• Build the evidence system with representative tasks and automated evaluations.
• Instrument user journeys to relate adoption to system behavior and cost.
• Engineer for responsible use with permissions, data handling and safety checks.
• Own production quality by releasing incrementally and monitoring live behavior.
• Make practical trade-offs balancing experience, quality, speed, reliability and cost.
• Contribute reusable patterns and tools while ensuring performance.
