Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior SRE/Platform Operations leader to oversee the reliability and observability of the bank's AI platform. You will direct incident response, runbooks and service assurance, while guiding automation and cost-aware infrastructure management across Azure environments.

The role requires deep SRE expertise, hands-on Azure experience, and strong leadership to coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage vendor and client expectations, and help ensure

Qualifications

• Combined minimum of 9 years of higher education and/or work experience, including 4 years in engineering/architecture and 3 years in leadership.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in site reliability engineering, platform operations, infrastructure engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services (API Management, Monitor, Log Analytics, Entra ID) and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the reliability, observability and operational readiness of the AI platform and production systems.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, SLIs/SLOs and incident response practices.
• Drive automation and CI/CD for infrastructure using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Terraform.
