Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation seeks an experienced senior leader to own and operate its enterprise AI platform, including the Azure API Management gateway and Azure AI Foundry, ensuring reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.

Lead a high-impact, cross-functional team across engineering and architecture, with responsibility for platform strategy, budget, vendor management and long-term operational excellence in a regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• A combined minimum of 11 years' higher education and/or work experience with leadership.
• Direct experience operating API gateway infrastructure at scale (e.g., Azure API Management).
• Experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, engineering and ongoing operation of M&T Bank's enterprise AI platform, including gateway, platform lifecycle environments and cost management.
• Oversee model onboarding, observability, security controls and regulatory compliance for the AI platform.
• Lead vendor relationships, drive platform governance and ensure delivery across multiple projects and teams.
