Job summary

Supabase is hiring an AI Platform Engineer to build the execution layer for our internal AI systems. You will own the platform that runs agents, with an event-triggered queue, a headless runtime, durable state, a human review gate, and full logging for auditability.

You will also design the evaluation layer, set safety cases, and enforce governance through tiered access and strict permissions. This role emphasizes end-to-end platform ownership and measurable return.

Qualifications

• Shipped production LLM agent systems with real users and incidents.
• Experience designing evaluations, rubrics and gates for AI systems.
• Deep API work against live systems and MCP servers.

Responsibilities

• Build the agent platform, including queue, runtime, state, and logging.
• Design the evaluation layer with safety cases and CI gates.
• Register and manage the agent portfolio across teams and layers.
• Enforce governance and least-privilege credentials in code.
• Design scalable communications with users, including interruptions and bundling.
• Own platform tooling: compiler, validator, and inventories.
