Job summary

Baseten is hiring a platform engineer to build and own the internal AI developer platform end to end. You’ll architect, build, roll out, operate, and measure tooling that enables engineers to ship AI-powered applications efficiently.

You’ll evaluate and integrate AI coding tools and create the context layer that makes agents work with our monorepo. This role emphasizes a platform mindset with strong docs, templates, and self-serve infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building AI native SDLC platforms.
• Proficient in Python and/or Go; builds daily-use tools.
• Hands-on with LLMs, agent frameworks and tool-calling.
• Strong documentation and self-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal AI developer platform end to end — architecture, build, rollout, operation, measurement.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) and build the context layer that makes them work against our monorepo.
• Build frameworks that let other engineers create their own agents without deep LLM expertise.
• Establish the evaluation practice for AI-assisted development and drive investment decisions.
• Drive adoption through developer experience — good defaults, clear docs, low friction.
• Embed with teams to find where AI unblocks them, then generalize those wins into platform capabilities.
• Own the safety layer: permissions, secrets handling, audit trails, cost management.
