WRITER is seeking an exceptional software engineer to join our rapidly evolving team. In this role you will build the next generation of AI-powered platforms, focusing on secure, scalable backend systems and integration workflows across enterprise tools.

This is a hybrid role based in US hubs (SF/NYC/Seattle); compensation ranges from $132k to $240k, with roles matched to experience. You'll mentor engineers, shape architecture, and own delivery from design to production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend engineering for production systems.
• Experience building API-driven platform services and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with authentication and security for third‑party integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable AI integration platforms connecting enterprise systems.
• Own backend service design for high throughput APIs.
• Define security boundaries across integrations (OAuth, API keys, etc.).
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to shape roadmaps and translate goals into platform capabilities.
• Lead reliability efforts with metrics, SLOs/SLAs, and incident response.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and uphold engineering standards.
